International claims managers Van Ameyde selected to handle claims for the AI-powered insurance company in Germany.
Van Ameyde, Europe’s market leader in the area of claims management, has been selected to provide third-party claims management services for Lemonade, the global insurance company that launched in Germany just last week.
Founded by tech veterans Daniel Schreiber and Shai Wininger, Lemonade is powered by artificial intelligence and driven by social good. Unlike the traditional insurance model, Lemonade takes a flat fee for its operations, and gives remaining underwriting profit to nonprofits, as part of its annual Giveback. This alignment of interests, together with digitizing the entire process, means claims can be paid instantly via the Lemonade app, using artificial intelligence and 18 anti-fraud algorithms.
Claims that require specific attention will be supported by Van Ameyde’s dedicated team of claims handlers and loss adjusting services. In addition, Van Ameyde provides its product valuation platform ValueChecker to further enhance the digital claims processes.
“Lemonade is an excellent example of how insurers can rethink their business model,” said Van Ameyde’s Business Development Manager Michael Akerboom. “Our values and competences are perfectly suited to support Lemonade’s business model and mission, combining great insurance with social good. We are really proud to play our part in making Lemonade successful in Europe.”
Lemonade is currently available for most of the United States and Germany, and continues to expand globally.
